Well I should consider myself lucky since I’m the only non-UK player in this. Ladbrokes was kind enough to give me an exception, but only for this 1st round. I have to travel to the UK if I make to the 2nd round… huh IF… OF COURSE i’ll be in the 2nd round, who am I kidding Anyway I’m registered for the tournament and so far 9 spots are taken out of the 50. Wife was supposed to join me but since all I will be doing is play poker and we only have the opportunity to talk in the breaks she decided not to join me.

€10 rebuy this week and also double points up for grabs. We only had 3 entrants this Tuesday since 6feetUnder had to work. Low and behold we managed to get all 3 player into top 50. SGolden666 finished 41st for 20 points. Me and 4_ssss ended up on the final table. 4_ssss finished 6th for 102 points and I finished 4th for 110 points. Team currently in 3rd position with tonights MTT left.

Another battle on the felt and yet again I was the only one managing a top 50 spot finishing 26th for 25 points. Tomorrow thursday we need to get the other team members into the points.

It’s back with a bang… BIGGER pricepool… MORE tournaments… My team Trigger Happy Maniacs consists of myself (TheSwede1970), SGolden666, 4_ssss and 6feetUnder. First tournament was a £5 Rebuy and we got 2 player into the top 50, and that was me and 4_ssss. I finished on a respectable 27th spot and 24 points to the team. Total team score was 34 after the LTC1a. In LTC1b i was the only one who managed to hit the top50, lucked my way to a 15th spot and 36 points. Total for team in LTC1b 39 points. Hmm found out that they calculate the points slightly different this time. Now it’s all based on a 2nd chance instead of consistent performance. Must say I don’t like it…

Started playing on french Pokerstars a while ago since I heard it was less players and better structure then on EU site. On Sunday I entered the €50 Sunday Special €200K which is a 2 day event with just over 4000 entries. 10K starting stack with 15 minute blind levels suits me well. Made a quick triple up with 88 vs AK vs AK. A lot of maniacs at this site so patience was needed. Entered the money just after midnight with 98K. Played solid and picked my spots carefully. Just before day 1 ended I lost a huge pot with a boat against quads and sat with 40K with 282 players left. Day 2 blinds 2,5K/5K and my small stack felt hopeless but managed to scrape my way down to less then 100 players. 98 players left and 52K stack. Tripled up to 160K and blinded down to 58K, blinds now 10K/20K ante 2,5K. Found 22 and pushed. AQ calls and he rivers a straight. 65th and €340 into the roll.

After the usual screaming and carrying on as you do when you win, I would take my wife to a noncomputerised holiday resort where we can spend time together. As a pokerplayer I have the habit of ignoring her a bit in the evenings while grinding the tables. I focus so hard on the game that I barely hear her talking to me and when bedtime comes she wants to talk (and I sleep). So all that lovely cash would go to my wife making sure that I’m available and listening to whatever she has to say, for the entire holiday. How long would 5K last on a tropical island? Would PokerStars offer to pay the flights if I win? To ensure my wife’s happiness that would be the best scenario. I’m surprised that most my pokerplayer friends have both wife and kids and still manage to stay together. It must be without a doubt a tough task that I don’t envy. I have enough with just a wife and 3 4-legged Ragdolls. Well the cats sure makes a good companionship for the wife while I play, but it’s not a substitution for me. About those cats, yeah they are lovely but they have also made me call & fold important hands while trying to catch that damn mouse cursor flying allover the screen. Back to the game… How do I win this thing? Patience combines with aggression or just donk my way through the field like a true Scandinavian? Sure there is also tight and supertight, but that normally leads to getting blinded out. So I have to find a way on each table that suits me and my current chipstack. Wonder if main event starts with 10K stack. Sure hope so! Last Sunday when PokerStars had their DOUBLE WHAMMER in all the big events i played one Warm-Up and one Million and finished 503rd in the Million. Happy with the way i played in that except when i miss clicked call 33K of my 37K with 95 off against AQ. Luckily the flop came 997. OK so when I have figured out how to play in the main event I then have to find a way to please my wife during those hours. I’m all ears for ideas how I can solve this precarious issue! You see I’m perfectly content with just playing poker that evening, with the occasional socializing with the wife during the 5 minute breaks. To make her perfectly happy I not only need to win this, I also need to pay her attention during the game. HOLY CRAP! Life is hard for a poker player. Or is it? She always says that the computer comes before her, but that is not entirely true, actually it’s not true at all. I say one day all this playing will pay off. Or atleast that is what i keep telling myself. So with this little post all I really wanted to say was that I love my wife and I would do anything to make her happy. Even if it meant ignoring her for a few hours while playing poker. So good luck to me!

Got a reminder that WBCOOP is back yet again 2012 by @PokerStars on Twitter. Sure don’t want to miss this event AGAIN like I did last year. Sure I reminded myself by posting a Tweet and wrote WCOOP, which @PokerStars quickly replied saying WCOOP is not until September With my latest run being down just 1K this year to even, I’m ready to take on this challenge. I have recently played a bit of Omaha Hi/lo tournaments and hope that WBCCOP have one of those stored in their schedule.

SENSATIONAL weather combined with good food & drinks doesn’t exactly make you think of poker, but since my brother in-law is obsessed with the game he plays a bit on the evenings. As the good pal I am I joined in on a couple of games, mainly Turbo MTT and managed to cash in couple. Good fun! Tomorrow it’s back to the beach for the daily tanning session!

Canary Islands

Weather is crap and have been most of this autumn, so any garden work was out of the question. Hanging out with friends and played a tournament or two in the evenings was all that I managed for the past few weeks. No result to brag about, but a lot of bad beat stories but they are so boring to listen to. Can’t wait to get to the Canary Islands for some welldeserved sun!
